Well written but your argument actually revolves around establishing united monarchy. You are just ignoring the natural process of evolution. You believe Israelites were united people first and separated afterwards. Book of judges suggests early Israelites were not a homogeneous group. Besides how could a egalitarian social structure build a massive kingdom described in old testament within such short period of time that spun around at best 250 years. What was the population size in the highland of Cannan from 1250 BCE to 1000.BCE ? During 1200 BCE there were about 25 settlement in habiting at best 5000 people, During 1000 BCE there were about 250 settlements with maximum 5000 inhabitants . How can this size of population be a conquering nation!? Samuel 1&2 frequently used the word Israel and Judah separately. How can Judah be treated as separate admiration during Saul's regime ? What is the topographic condition of Judah? What was it source of revenue. Jerusalem was not bigger than a cow town during David and Solomon's time. Those who had no previous experience of running a country ,created a legendary kingdom before mighty Assirian . It's simply a lie. People are spending time in vain to establish kingdom of David . It's defies natural evolution of a population. It's nothing more than Moses story. It's the unfinished dream of king Joshua. It will be helpful for neutral who are egar to know the truth about Israelites history if scholar like you address impartially.
