The Silver Trumpets of Numbers 10

The silver trumpet from Tutankhamun’s tomb offers a striking material parallel to the two silver trumpets described in Numbers 10:1–10. Egyptian artifacts, biblical texts, later commentary, and the 1939 BBC recording of King Tut’s trumpets illuminate the passage’s royal, cultic, and military dimensions.

As i recall there was a technical foul up with one of the trumpets before the Bbc recording. The trumpeteer the rvening before thought to do a dress rehearsal. He inserted a mouth piece and blew. The trumpet didnt stand up to the stress and openend possibly along a seam. A very anxious night was spent in repairing the damage. Second. When excavating Jerisalem a high corner stone of an outside wall was discovered. Large dressed limestone with part of the inscription the place of trumpeting.. תקועה..... for announincing the approaching shaBat. as a parallel for your attention to an an article of Natlonal geographic from an edition in the early 1950s on Yemen. One of the photos shows a trumpeter standing on a corner of the city wall his trumpet extended announcing the approaching Friday. Thanks for the article
