Thanks for this info and helping clarify the various statuses of widows. I suppose each widow’s financial position, much like today, dictated her reliance on others, including family members. The widow of Nain, for example, was probably poor and older. I’m assuming the widow had only the one son who died, and thus needed day to day support and financial assistance which would’ve been difficult especially if she didn’t have family who lived near her.
