I absolutely struggle with this. The journey from Damascus to Arabia, back to Damascus and then on to Jerusalem - all taking 3 years - justifying the point that there was no immediate move to contact the ‘before me’ Apostles is not near the same in chronology or spirit as a ‘resort to Jerusalem’ - I think paragenomenos means going to a place where one would naturally go - happening after sufficient days had passed for the Jews of Damascus to start doing something about Saul/Paul’s radical change of sides. In the circumstances as presented this would have been pretty quick.
The suggestion that Luke builds in his own recollections and the recollections of others into the narrative by the same method, just switching to the first person, is a little disturbing - why do that, when it is at least a little misleading?
