used it for a sermon illustration ... for an educated lay audience ... K Kenyon 's hypothesis was (is) incorrect, however - not sure if the article ever addressed it... the walls are actually hellenistic; and a MC was discovered, and because of that MC, Kenyon incorrect noted Persian ... the time of Nehemiah. This is the problem with archeology ... needing a text to prove its digs. The two tasks (biblical studies/ archeology) they need to be separated out... this is my professional / academic judgement. One should not try to prove or disprove the other.
