I find this to be half-hearted. Socialism/communism does not eliminate the poor, as you suggest. Jesus did come to combat social injustice, but ONLY as a secondary motive to his mission to provide eternal salvation. You seem to view the scripture through your own tinted lenses, just like those you criticize here. Jesus was not socialist, capitalist, or anything else. All of them are systems created by man, and so they are all flawed. God explained this follow through Samuel to His people. The scriptures do not endorse either system, nor did Jesus. The job of combatting social injustice lies with believers, not government. We've tried to outsource it to the government, which results in poor quality every time.
