Coming to this article a bit late as I go down a rabbit hole of why people are starting to use BCE and CE. I don't think that the BC and AD dating system reflects an inconsistency in the Bible. My understanding is the guy who made the calendar many many years after Jesus died simply got the day wrong. It's not a revelation of some sort that causes a flaw in the whole system to say that Jesus was born in 7 bc. Because BC means before Christ so obviously he wasn't born 7 years before he was born. There's no inconsistency in the Bible there's an inconsistency in the dating of the whole thing based on that one guy that created the calendar. Humans make mistakes. God doesn't.
