I wrote a lot about Asherah in relation to Hebrew references to kaneh bosm, which the Polish anthropologist and etymologist Sula Benet, originally identified cannabis in the Hebrew originals of the Old Testament texts, in my 2001 book, Sex, Drugs, Violence and the Bible. This theory was recently validated by archeological evidence from Arad, Jerusalem, and a 2800 yr old temple site which has also been discussed as a site that held of evidence of the combined worship of Asherah and Yahweh. Two altar stones were found, one held residues of frankincense and the other cannabis resins.
