As a proud U of Arizona graduate (1999) and a devoted disciple of Chandola of the East Asian Studies Dept., I can report that the Tucson of today needs its Uta-pishtam to bring water to the desert, as the Jewish Israelite people have turned the desert green by desalinating the Sea. The eternal sands and mountains look the same in both locations, but Tucson will be lost under the sands, just as Uruk, without some water soon.
