Christianity discourages child molestation? The Catholic Church is rife with it.
"The damage suffered by the children who may result from these fleeting sexual liaisons?" One of the reasons for the sexual revolution was incredible medical advancements in contraception. Consider instead the damage suffered by puritanical parents who simultaneously punish their child for the smallest suggestion of innuendo and attempt to scrub the adult world of any sexuality for its benefit.
"A strong case can be made for the benefits of Christianity in this area"? Heath in his article referenced several sources that make the opposite case, but if you're not up to reading, then please think long and hard about the treatment of gay individuals in Judeo-Christian regions of the world.
It was an interesting article offering a different perspective on the "all-loving" God. If you hold in yourself a favor for a god which is "loving," would you rather that the Judeo-Christian God was one whose love was ultimately false and could only be expressed through the most violent human extremism and repression, or one whose love included that which is literally "erotic?"
