I find it interesting that the term Israelite exists in this issue at all. Israelite can only mean persons who were from the Northern Cana'anite Kingdom of Israel. No relation whatsoever to a biblical group of some 2.5 million descendents of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Jabob's 12 sons who were completely isolated in Egypt... How handy that the Exodus writers get Jacob a second name from an angel that just happens to be the same as Israel in Cana'an. To continue to peddle Exodus and Joshua as historical fact while flagrantly using the term of Israelites as meaning invaders who committed absolute genocide on the population of Cana'an at the orders of God is absurd. This interchange between historical writings and biblical nonsense simply has to stop.
