Ah thank you that does clarify things better! Particularly regarding Celsus. I agree that the Palestinian Talmud traditions probably do not go back to Jesus, but this still leaves open a very real question. What if Celsus' "Jesus son of Pantera" is still actually reflecting a Jewish tradition about a figure named Joshua/Jesus who was a son of a Roman "Pantera" and that this was then incorrectly presumed by Celsus to be Jesus of the gospels? Sorry for my confusion anyways!

As a side note, I would be most interested in research on Celsus' Jewish "source" being a fiction. That actually is relevant to some of my own tangential research.
